Changes to drive clean – FOR LIGHT DUTY VEHICLES

First received updates on the revised Drive Clean Program.

• The government will be eliminating the $30 Drive Clean test fee.
• The Drive Clean program will continue to operate largely as it has and existing functions will still be needed.
• There will be processing changes as the funding mechanism will change. Drive Clean facilities will be reimbursed by the government for performing tests instead of being paid by the vehicle owner. This process must be developed.
• The government has not determined the timing for this change.

The government givith with one hand and takith away with the other, tax on fuel is increased by .04 cents/lt.
